Again, still a noticeable delay in lip sync. Every sound is Unbelievably distinct and clear though. In comparison, the Onn is crisper and like a concert hall wall of sound (until it goes into an action scene). I think they’re closing it out because it seems to be the only place it’s available anymore. Okay, so I bought a Vizio 5.1.2 that is the same price as this but at Best Buy. No support for it though, so it seems doubtful.

Also, this does periodic updates, and I wonder if they intend to add anything. I got it for Christmas from my wife after I was amazed by the store demo, and there is so much good about it, but I’m just not completely sure about it without being able to adjust these settings. This is a design issue for sure because I’ve tried two. it’s like I get pulled out of the moment and many sounds go distant. Anytime is about to go into an action scene with fire, explosions, gunfire, etc. The second issue is It appears to have volume leveling that I can’t turn off. Man it is loud And clear though, With no distortion that I can detect.

This delay is only when decoding Dolby surround and atmos, not with PCM.

First, there is a slight audio delay with any app I use and with my smart blue-ray player, but not on my Windows 10 laptop which is strange and just to the point of livable. I’ve gone through two of these and two issues I see that I’m having a hard time getting over.

Instead, I’ve connected my Roku and disc player (samsung smart Blue-ray player 2016 model) to the hdmi inputs then attached my TV through the eARC. My tv is old so it will not pass lossless Dolby. Since I’ve now tried two distinct soundbars with the TV, is it obviously a TV issue? Or is it just an issue for any and all soundbars? I have a different LG Atmos soundbar connected to a different Samsung TV and have none of the same issues. I had a similar issue when connecting my Vizio to it, but the tech guys who came when I set up a visit said any audio issues are from the soundbar. Doesn’t make a difference if I set the TV to PCM-Stereo, Auto Detect, or Passthrough. My question is whether anyone else is noticing a delay in audio - not lag, or lip syncing, but rather when any video (YouTube, Netflix, VUDU, etc) plays, there’s ZERO audio as the video plays for about 3 seconds before it comes on. You miss the rear speakers of the Vizio model, but I think the build quality is better here, and the height speakers seem to have more oomph, so the “envelope” of an Atmos effect is comparable. Had to replace a Vizio 5.1.2 with this Onn Atmos soundbar.
